How Much Do Gutters Cost in 2025?
Gutters are essential partners to your roof, working together to manage water around your home. While your roof sheds water, gutters ensure its proper distribution away from your home’s foundation. In this article, we’ll break down the factors influencing gutter costs in 2025.
Just like roof pricing, gutter pricing varies depending on several factors:
Removal of Existing Gutters
Size of Gutters (5” or 6”)
Number of Stories on the Home
Complexity of Gutter Runs (Straight vs. Corners)
Number of Downspouts
Let’s examine each factor using a home that requires 300 feet of gutter installation as our example.
1. Removal of Existing Gutters
If your home has existing gutters, additional costs are incurred for their removal and disposal. In 2025, this service ranges from $2.40 to $3.60 per foot. For a 300-foot system, that’s $720 to $1,080.
Post-removal, any rotten fascia must be replaced before new gutters are installed. This typically costs between $18 to $30 per foot, adding $90 to $150.
Subtotal: $810 to $1,230
2. Installation of 5” or 6” Gutters
The installation cost varies based on gutter size:
5” Gutters: $7.20 to $10.80 per foot, totaling $2,160 to $3,240 for 300 feet.
6” Gutters: $12.00 to $14.40 per foot, totaling $3,600 to $4,320 for 300 feet.
For this example, we’ll proceed with the 5” gutter pricing.
Running Total: $2,970 to $4,470
3. Home Height Considerations
Two and three-story homes may incur higher labor costs due to increased risk and the need for specialized equipment. At Restoration Roofing, we do not charge extra for two-story homes. However, additional charges may apply for homes with three or more stories.
4. Complexity of Gutter Runs
Corners, known as mitre joints, require additional labor. Each corner adds $18 to $36. Assuming four corners, this adds $72 to $144.
Running Total: $3,042 to $4,614
5. Number of Downspouts
Downspouts are essential for directing water away from your home. The general rule is one downspout per 30 feet of gutter, so a 300-foot system would require approximately 10 downspouts.
One-Story Home Downspouts: $90 to $108 each, totaling $900 to $1,080.
Final Estimated Total: $3,942 to $5,694
These estimates provide a general idea of gutter installation costs in 2025. Actual prices may vary based on location, material availability, and specific contractor rates.
